Couple of interesting points. This sets out the dollar savings for Rice that they will not have to spend travelling out west. I guess those Rice eggheads are not as smart as the TCU people. TCU says the cost will be about the same. Ha.
Also, this says that the Rice-SMU game will be televised. That is the first I had heard about that.

Nice Reading.
Thank you for posting it up on the board.

The cost of travelling in the New CUSA compared to the WAC w/Hawaii and other far-off and out of the way destinations is a lot less.
The cost of travelling in the MWC, with most destinations near large, accessible airports compared to the old CUSA with a lot of far-off and out of the way destinations is not much of a difference.

I'll grant you that Salt Lake City, San Diego, Albequerque, and Las Vegas are decent sized cities with good air support. But the rest of the MW Conference requires some hiking boots. Provo, Colorado Springs, Ft. Collins, and Laramie are not hub cities for any airline.

But the cost of travel to the new CUSA West is a lot less than the travel to the new MWC, plus the ticket, parking, food and beverage revenue should be greater.
