Anyone able to put together each one of Phil's recruiting classes and then elaborate on what each player is doing now? (i.e., Humphry starts at safety, John Doe got a girl pregnant and dropped out of school.) I'd be very curious to see what each player is doing now.

to be fair, that was not really Bennett's 1st class...it was mostly Cavan's. You'd have to post the next season's group for Bennett's 1st true recruiting class. They would be the guys now in their 3rd year in the program...either JRs of RS Sophs...and hopefully the key to Bennett's long term tenure at SMU

OK HFVictory, since you may already have been keeping records. How
many of these guys are still with the team?
Anybody know the average Div. 1A retention rate of Jrs., and redshirt
Sophs.?
Hmmmm, may have a new "Coaching Ratio", unless it already exists.
Coaching Ratio = avg. recruiting class rank for the last 4 or 5 years /
avg. final season rank of Sagarin, and a couple others
Highest positive number ratio WINS.

I count only 6 casualties and a bunch of guys who should contribute this year. This is the class that needs to win before they finish their careers at SMU.

that coaching ratio would not tell you which teams would be best because not all recruiting classes are equal. If they were Rice would be National Champions every year.

Not intended to be a predictor of the best teams. It would be a
diamond in the rough analysis of COACHING PERFORMANCE.
Hatfield is pretty good with that ratio, isn't he??
