These are the only mentions of SMU

Coach Bennett is rated the 11the best coach in CUSA

11. Phil Bennett, SMU: A moment of silence for Bennett. One of college football's good guys has won six games in three years. You don't have to be a student at the tony Highland Park school to figure out how many wins per year that is. Youth was the scapegoat in 2004. But it doesn't matter if the players are freshmen or seniors if they lack talent.

According to the SN preview the schedule is the 5th strongest

5. SMU: With Baylor, TCU, Texas A&M, Rice and Houston on the docket, SMU may be trying to relive its Southwest Conference past. Amen to that because that was the last time the Mustangs were relevant.

Unfortunately, we were only relevant because we had the highest payroll of any college team in the country! Were those few glorious years really worth what SMU fans have had to put up with for the last 15+ years?

/\ Man, that's a damn good point. Most would probably say no.
