After they get pounded into the dirt by OU they will be over hear spouting their usual trite nonsense. TCU will be lucky to break 500 this season.

Army and UNLV are the only W's on the schedule this year. Nothing else stands out as a lock. 5-6 is my guess for the Froggies.

After Baylor, we knock off TCU

Once Christopher Walken did the "cowbell" routine on SNL, I've used his line about "I've got a fever" for situations like playing the Sleestak people in Ft. Worth. I've got a fever and only defeating TCU will cure it. The fever is making me delirious and causing to be believe we could actually go 2-0 before the aTm game. However Kyle Field sobers me up quickly. I wish it wouldn't be on TV 'cause it could get ugly. What the hay, going 2-1 in September against former SWC foes wouldn't be so bad now would it.

How many times have our beloved Ponies been over .500 in the last 15 years? How many bowl games have we been to in the last 5 years or weeks have we been ranked in the top 25? I can't see how any of us as SMU alums and fans can cast stones at TCU given how they have owned us for most of the last decade in football and basketball and have clearly made a committment to fielding competitive athletic teams. Ever since Jim Copeland announced the "Committment" to athletics, the only thing that we have been committed to is losing.

It is simple, we are all without sin, we no longer cheat so we can cast all the stones we won't

um, I'm guessing you meant "want"...

I think TCU is going to have a rough season, and I can't say I feel bad for the fellas.

I'm hoping the team comes into Dallas looking like the froggy picture I have above... And below a tribute to the backwards thinking TCU displayed when they headed west. Mountain West.

Tranquilo, senior Pony Snob. Beating TCU is our goal, not berating SMU before we start losing again. The Frogs have begun their inevitable decline now that all of the Fran effect is gone from Ft. Worth. A devastating loss to OU and a win over Baylor might even make you hopeful about beating TCU this year. I'm not one of the sunshine boys either because as far as I am concerned this is Bennett's last chance.

You are correct. We Frogs are more worried about OU than SMU. However, I haven't seen any of you on killerfrogs, so we could say that you are trolling on Baylor boards.

The only reason I'm here is because after going to see the TCU-OU game, we're driving back down to see SMU - Baylor. I've always been a fan of SMU and cheer for them whenever they're not playing TCU.

Is that e-rag back up and running? I thought Patterson had it shut down for broadcasting his playbook to the enemy.

You know, I've never visited an oppositions fanboard. If I have time to waste, I'll waste it here. Unfortunately, in the last month, I have had nothing but time to waste.

But, it always seemed like the frog fans were kind of everpresent here...

You're about the only one then. Most people think its fun to give the other teams crap before (and after) a game.

Let's see: we play you every year, we're cross-town rivals with a long history and we've been beating you every year for the past 6 years. Nah, there's no reason we should be on your board.

Ponysnob is one of the few posters on this board that actually tells the truth about the state of SMU football. TCU make a 'real' commitment after the SWC disbanded. Their success in football and basketball for a non-BCS school is impressive. SMU, on the other hand, is commited to making excuses for its losing ways. If SMU made a 'real' commitment like TCU did maybe we would have been invited to C-USA the first time around. SMU may also been able to get enough talent to compete with TCU. For Bennett's sake, he better play a good game against TCU or most of us will be calling for his resignation. Last year's game was an absolute nightmare and if repeated we could see another coach in here next year which may not be a bad thing. I do predict TCU plays OU better than SMU plays A&M.

At least we will get TCU without their good QB Gunn who will undoubtedly be injured against OU. Evidently the Baylor QB is nothing to write home about either. He is listed at 6-1 but many think he is more like 5-11. He has a weak arm to boot. My prediction of SMU 42 Baylor 10 is looking better all the time. Good thing Baylor is playing Sanford and Son the following week. A team more on their level.

Woe Billy Joe, it was the scandal

It wasn't the lack of commitment that kept SMU out of the C-USA when TCU left the WAC. An assistant coach was caught giving illegal aid to recruits and the NCAA was reviewing the case and the school's self-imposed penalties. If a lack of commitment were a barrier to C-USA membership, it sure didn’t limit SMU this time when new conference members were needed. As for that money that would make us competitive with TCU or others, how much could you afford to make it happen? Most of us are not in a position to bail out the program, but we sure are generous with other people’s money aren’t we. For the record, I’ll be on the bandwagon to dump Bennett too if we are embarrassed again by TCU. This is his make or break year for sure.
