Great Tradition Reborn

Postby Stallion » Sun Sep 04, 2005 12:15 am

now that we changed conferences did anybody notice that Peruna was allowed to run the field after scores(well actually after the first one it was more like a trot) but we ran nonetheless for the first time in about 10 years. Thought that might be a sign. Not like the old days when Peruna was let loose. A running Peruna used to be a big part of the Mustang TD celebration-I'd like to see more of that tradition.

Congratulations. I thought coming in SMU could play with Baylor at home but didn't predict a victory. Game went pretty much as I thought-Baylor's big offensive lineman wore SMU down and the running game clinched it for Baylor. In Mosely you have a great big kid who can fly once he gets some momentum but until Baylor gets him some running room I don't see him living up to the lofty predictions of Baylor fans. He's no Walter Abercumbie-slow first step.

I've seen that so often long before, I didn't realize it was back. When was
Peruna just let loose to run without Peruna runners? Maybe you meant
full throttle by the runners who I've seen 1 of the 2 get dragged a little
bdfore letting go like water skiing.

he was usually on the field and galloping before the kick team was on the field. For longtime SMU fans it was a big part of SMU scoring a TD.
