some candid thoughts

Everyone that remains has finally snapped. Much too much patience has been shown for being not competitive for too long. I've snapped too. I really do think Baylor is much improved over the two years ago, probably more than most people think. SMU is improved too, maybe just as much, but we started from lower. My head tells me that. My heart tells me I am done waiting; no patience left. Something needs to happen, now.

Its really not in my nature to turn against coaches and I dont wanna give up on Bennett, but the 4th and 4 call really disturbed me. Thats not hindsight either, even though we were winning, I was not happy at all at halftime on Saturday. I'm also a big believer that no qb can overcome a line that does not block or protect. But you have to make the best of it, and Eckert might look good against teams like San Jose and Tulsa, but he is absolutely the wrong qb for our team. We can't protect him.

Back to the coach thing. I thought Notre Dame was giving up on Ty Willingham too early. What, did he have 2 years? Its only been one game, but it already looks like they like the move they made. We arent getting any Charlie Weis types. But what about Darrell Dickey and Ramon Flanigan. Do we have enough juice left to make that happen if we need to? Bennett is not dead yet, but something good needs to happen. This fan base is hanging on by a thread. A mop up win over Tulsa late in the season wont do it either.
