Two cents

Okay. Last night, it took me the better part of two and a half hours to read all the threads and all the posts that I missed on my almost three day hiatus from the funeral dirge that is the PonyFans.com world.
If you too have been away, here’s a recap. We suck. We’re all gonna’ die. I wish I went to Michigan (well, no one says actually says “Michiganâ€â€¦). Put in Phillips. We suck. Why am I not dead yet? Hire Todd Dodge. Hire Flanigan. The season’s over. We’re doomed… oh, and lest I forget – fire everyone.
So…
As I walked away from Ford Stadium Saturday night, I felt that all was lost. That everything I had hoped for was over and done with and that “my whole world was blackâ€â€¦ but then the dark cloud past and by the time I got back to the car, I decided that throwing away a lifetime of fandom, wasn’t worth one lousy game.
Thus, at the risk of being handed the dreaded sunshiner label, I am going to look to the positives of Saturday night’s game.
-We were one fluke play away from winning. Say we recover the last gasp onside kick and rumble, bumble, stumble it in all the down the field for a TD… sure, we’d still be harping on all the negatives now, but we’d be doing it while basking in the glow of a win. A game that is a one-possession loss is still a loss… but it’s not a death knell. Even an undefeated season wouldn’t get us into the National Championship game…
-Massey looked good. He needs to be fed the ball. Period.
-Our defense was very, very good… for three quarters.
-We looked to be improved at every position… save for quarterback.
So, I’ll go back to what I said after the game… put in Phillips… you folks remember how it was noted on this board that Bennett made a watch word for this season? And that word was “It Well Phillips has IT. Just put him out there for every play for the rest of the season.
Let’s just beat the crap out of TCU, and all will be right with the world.
