Why would you conjure up memories from that debacle?
Little Massey probably will play -- he got in against the Sooners. Hopefully he'll spend the day telling his teammates "I TOLD you my brother was a stud."
My lasting memory of last year's game was D.D. Lee breaking his arm (and apparently ripping up his knee on the same play) and refusing to come out of the game. Right there, he became one of my all-time favorite Mustangs. If ever there was a Mustang with a heart of a champion, he's it.
Here are the memories I'd like to take from this year's game:
Jessie Henderson returning the opening kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown, and a bunch of Frogs huffing their way back to the bench saying "Damn, No. 9 is fast."
Jerad Romo running like Phillips did two years ago.
Bobby Chase and Ryan Kennedy taking on the roles of "good receivers who are just too strong to bring down."
Cedrick Dorsey and Richuel Massey running right through the heart of the TCU defense.
Sacks from Rogers, Ieremia-Stansbury, Muse and Nnabuife.
D.D. Lee returning the favor by planting Lonta Hobbs. Not hard enough to end his season or anything, but planting him nonetheless. (I know, Hobbs didn't mean to hurt Lee last year -- it was a freak injury. But I'd still like to see it.)
2-3 SMU interceptions.
TCU players having to answer how the beat OU and lost to the Ponies.
