The idea of redshirting an entire freshman class is great, but with only 85 scholarships, it's really not realistic. If USC and Oklahoma and LSU and Texas aren't deep enough to keep all their newcomers on the outside looking in, neither are we.

Frankly, I'm excited about some of the freshmen. If they can help us win, go for it. But I'd bet they get eased in slowly (see Columbus Givens' playing time in the opener).

Oh hell....we've heard this before. Remember when we were told that Phillips would be de-redshirted, and Sturdivant, and some others? Seems we were ofer that year.

i don't see why. they just end up wasting some kids year of elgibility when he sees only about two games and they throw him back on the bench.
