My thoughts (ramblings)

1) Thanks to the visiting TCU fans on this board for their graciousness and being good sports! Good luck on the rest of the season.

2) This game was a first and relieves so much frustration (to me) in so many ways:

1st win against a ranked opponent in almost 20 years;
1st time we have bragging rights against our (only true) natural rivals in 7 years—I thought it would be decades;
1st win for Bennett in September;
1st time in a long time I actually felt I was watching a college football game when watching SMU;
1st time I can actually go to work and have something to talk (brag) about other than LSU (which everybody can brag about here).

3) I wonder if TCU finally realizes it cut off its nose to spite its face when it moved to the MWC? Oh, well...the mountains are pretty.

4) Could DeMyron be our LaDanian? Hmm…don’t wake me up.

5) Bennett better make McMurtray stay on the practice field this week until he makes 1000 field goals in row from 42 yards.

6) Shoulda, coulda, woulda beat Baylor—dammit!!! How amazing would 2-0 be?

7) Maybe we should savor this win for a while and not hope “too big” against aTm, except that our guys stay healthy. Last thing we need now is injuries, so just take it easy. Aw hell—BEAT THEM AGGIES!!

THANKS FOR MAKING US PROUD, MUSTANGS!!!

Well said. The TCU fans were first-rate. Can't believe I said that, but they were cool.

Slow down there -- he was sensational, but it was one game. (How would you like to have been that guy last night?)

He's fine. He drilled the one that was wiped out by the false start flag (did ANYONE move? I sure didn't see anyone), and it was a blocking breakdown that got his FG blocked.

That's why I said, "don't wake me up." But, hey, you gotta admit, he's got all the attributes...

Fine? Now, I definitely wouldn't say "fine." Maybe the snapper and holder need to be with him on the field, but the boy needs to step it up! He could've solely put the game away a lot earlier and saved me a few fingernails.

I didn't see the first snap, but the last two snaps were high- he was lucky to get a foot on it at all. We need to spend some time on the deep snap thats for sure - but we have a good kicker finally.

The punt that got blocked was also a bad snap, the ball bounced off the ground on the way to Mentzel and he had to adjust and scoop it up to try to get the punt off.
