Did anyone see a game story in Sunday's DMN? I don't get the local (late) edition and mine just said to see the website. I was wondering if we made it in any editions...

Yes. The game made the Collin Co. Edition at least. Two stories. One from the TCU beat writer and one from Watkins. Pretty much the AP stories (read: generic). But to be fair, the game ran till midnight and No. 2 Texas beat No. 4 Ohio state.

I made sure I got both a DMN and S-T today to read all about the win. The S-T managed two articles with two color photos. The DMN managed to get a blurb in the sidebar stating the game went late. Apparently, the game got over a lot later in Dallas than just 30 miles west. I called the DMN to complain or at least check on press deadlines before complaining. I got some wishy-washy answers. I guess Dooby was right -- the DMN was busy preparing the one and one-half page layouts on UT as I don't think the games ended more than 30 minutes apart.

The DMN sidebar referenced their online sports article about SMU-TCU. It reads good.

Look only 22,000 people even bothered to show up with two Metroplex teams and TCU coming off its biggest upset in years. Probably the usual 12-14,000 SMU fans-which is really the extent of our fan base. People that think that SMU/TCU should get more coverage than UT/OSU have lost touch with reality.

Plus I would be willing to bet that it will be in tomorrow's paper. I'm not going to complain about much right now, I'm still to happy over our win yesterday. Plus if you will remember this happened to us repeatedly when we played in the WAC. It isn't like they are intentionally trying to snub us because we finally played a good game.

I expected the front page picture and the full page Sports Day on Texas, but I was shocked that the DMN didn't even have our score posted. I guess this is what happens when you play teams from a mountain time zone conference.

Be happy with what you get. The only way that SMU is mentioned in Arkansas papers is when the write up on Baylor beating Samford mentioned Baylor was 2-0. (For any Aggies reading our board, that is meant to indicate that SMU was one of the 2 Baylor wins and that is the way we were mentioned).

I almost forgot we will have to be explaining a lot of the things we say this week so the TAM folks will be able to take part and understand.

They must have printed my paper later in the early morning...two stories on the game were in my sports section. One under the UT story on the front page by Calvin and one inside by Miller under the continuation of the front page story. No stats though.
