no biggie.....just a thought.......BUT
whats up with the sounds/music in Ford Stadium?
the music should be geared to the entire audience
not just the old alumini and donors.
yes play the traditionals, but also play something hip
for the students and players.
was it last year they played some hip-hop
song over the loudspeakers and all the SMU players
started bouncing to the beat.
it was a fun moment for everybody.
it would have been great to have some Usher "YEAH" blasting
on the speakers at just the right moment in that 4th quarter last
night against those "cross town whippin boys" A.K.A. the Frogs,
look, i am not even a hip hop fan, but we need to cater some
to the youth, the students, and the players not just the "blue-hair
donors". Hey the old folks will understand they have kids or
grandchildren, It won't kill them to listen to a song or two a game
that really pumps up the youth.
no you dont want to play all hip hop or all youth oriented music, but cant we slip in at least one per half to rev up the students and players?
also has the stampede thunder been dropped or
greatly diminshed? don't seem to hear that either?

I guess you weren't at the game last night. there was rap music playing fairly often over the speakers and i saw the players jumping up and down to it whenever it came on.
It played after the half, after every score, at the end of the game, and other times in between.

i was at the game and didnt hear much hip hop.
but if I missed it while at the concessions or restroom then
i am happy to see someone is making sure that happens.
keep it up!

Not sure the canned music should be the way to go. I've been to every University of Washington home game in the past 5 years and the only music they play over the speakers is when the players come out of the tunnel. Other than that the only music you hear comes from the Husky band or visiting team's band. And if you don't think 75,000 fans can't get pumped from hearing live music from the band, you're dead wrong.
How is it in other stadiums? What about the Big House? Do they play canned music there?

It's probably just me, but "Voodoo Chile" sounded awfully good from where I was sitting a little before game time. I was thinking to myself that maybe, just maybe, Hendrix was putting a little voodoo spell on TCU.
I'll take that monster of a song over any hip-hop any day.

It was hot but the victory made it seem like a breeze!
It was a great day for SMU Football.
I bet TCU is in shock!

if you are in the stands before kick-off, rock and rap music is BLASTING loud. i'm really surprised the older folks are not complaining.

Yup -- it's pretty loud (I'm in the pressbox three hours before kickoff each week). Part of that, I assume, is because there's virtually nobody in the stadium -- the music bounces off those aluminum seats and gets really loud. Must be fun living across Mockingbird Lane!

In defense of Insane, if you are sitting on the east side of the stadium, you hear no PA whatsoever. There are no speakers on that side of the stadium, so for all you folks who get bounced out of your seats on the west side, they hear nothing on the student side. The entire sound system in Ford needs to be ripped out and they can start over - this time with someone who knows and cares what they are doing.

I like to get in my seat, about ten minutes before the National Anthem.
