Ok, since SMU has rarely had the chance to be excited for an entire week, I figured we should all try to help out with the momentum.

Wear SMU hats and shirts around town, going to the gym, etc. People will notice how many pony fans are out there, and maybe some other lost fans will come back. I rode around town all day with my SMU car flag hanging out the window.

Don't have any gear? Stop by the bookstore and load up! Get some stuff for your kids while you're at it, they love to wear college logo stuff around, and it helps that we aren't 0-fer in September again.

The aggie game will be tough, I just hope we don't get any major injuries. But after aTm, we get Tulane at home. This game should be PACKED, or at least as full as we can get it. Get your neighbors, friends, fans of other Texas schools with away games that week, ANYbody. Get them to the boulevard and then make some noise in Ford. It's so much easier to have a good time when you know you aren't going to lose every game on the schedule.

OK, let's recap:
-Wear SMU gear all week (heck, let's make it two weeks, to last until Tulane)
-Buy stuff for kids so they can pick on kids with TCU shirts on
-Bring people to the Tulane game! Wear RED!

Our marketing dept. needs to use the Katrina-Tulane angle, and get some folks in Ford.

Yes. They do. Donations; work with the Ticket. Get people to the campus on Staurday.

While working with the Ticket -- the flagship station in OUR radio network -- they might demand an on-air apology for their idiot who showed up on our campus in Frog gear. I know he went there, and I don't care. The station is part of our network. That was extremely unprofessional (which, of course, shouldn't come as a surprise with that nitwit).

look if you take the Ticket too seriously you're going to make yourself look foolish. We'd be better off with SMU officials who were willing to play THEIR game-like Jerry Jones and Mark Cuban. They lampoon those guys even in their owb weekly owners talk shows. Ron Meyer was the only SMU Coach who knew how to play the game. It's entertainment don't think we need to rescind the First Amendment or declare martial law because of a little sctick. Maybe you should have gone to Texas A&M so you can hear Dave South talk about how WE won the ballgame. Dallas is a different deal.
