SMU v aTm WATCH PARTY IN DALLAS?

Postby MrMustang1965 » Mon Sep 12, 2005 11:37 am

I know I asked this a couple of weeks ago...but after the win over TCU I'm hoping to round up a LOT of folks to watch the SMU v aTm game on TV at a local watering hole in Dallas. I've got several high school classmates who will be in town for our 30th high school reunion who want to watch it somewhere. Some of them are Mustangs, some of them are Aggies. But I'd like to go someplace that's 'MUSTANG FRIENDLY' to watch it. Suggestions? And...anyone else on this board is welcome to join us! GO MUSTANGS! BEAT THE HELL OUTTA A&M!

Why don't you come to the game with the rest of us. Friendliest place to watch is in the stands with the SMU Faithful.

I've got 8 going now..

Let me know where you decide on going MM1965. I have a ticket and was planning on going to witness the game in person until this past Saturday night when an over zealous fan pushed me off the wall onto the field prematurly. I suffered a compact fracture on both heels, so needless to say I have limited mobility, and at this point won't be able to make it down to Kyle Field. I'm still hoping on hope that I regain the ability to put pressure on at least one of my feet.

I'm also thinking of renting a wheelchair for this weekend so it doesn't take me an hour to move 10 feet. If anyone knows of a place near SMU or the Uptown area that rents wheelchairs, medical supplies, etc. I would appreciate the info.

Thanks, Go 'stangs and I HOPE to see everyone down in College Station

Hey, you should got Kyle Field anyway. They will have to give you a wheelchair accessible seat, which will be better than the Visitor's section.

Yeah I thought about that. However my group is getting their tickets through an SMU alum friend who's family is like 6th generation College Station institution. So even though I haven't seen the seats I assume they are quite good. If I do end up going, I probably won't be able to sit with my group and I'll have to sit in the disabled section. This is so embarasing, I have new respect for the non mobile peple out here...it sucks.

WorldStang: I originally was planning on it when the game was first announced. Then my high school reunion planning committee changed the reunion weekend to THIS WEEKEND! AAARRGGHHH!!!!! (it was originally scheduled in October)

So...I'll be staying in Big D and watching the Mustangs on the tube. C'mon, folks...I really need some good suggestions on where to watch the game without a bunch of damned Aggies yelling in my ears!

Suggestions? Anyone? Remember: I want it to be a 'Mustang-friendly atmosphere'!

In Dallas I think your best bet would be to watch the game on TV at home and just invite everyone over to watch it at your place.

On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

Bailey's First and 10 on mockingbird and abrams (? maybe skillman) seems to have a soft spot for the ponies. That might be worth a try.

That would be a good choice...Mr. Bailey is a true mustang fan. It's at Mockingbird and Abrams...northeast quad.

Alright, couch 'em and PK....Bailey's First & 10 it is!!!!!

I just called over there and Mr. Bailey is going to welcome THE MUSTANG NATION this Saturday!

Bailey's First & 10 is located at 316 Hillside Village at the corner of Mockingbird Lane and Abrams Road (northeast corner).

The Saturday 'lunch special' is ribs! :D And they've got pitchers of beer available, too.

Two large screen TVs up front and more TVs in the back room.

Sounds like a pretty good place to meet up at 11 a.m. this Saturday to see SMU pull its 2nd upset of the year!

MM1965

I'll be heading to Aggieland for the game but have been wondering where I could watch the Marshall and UAB games. If First and 10 works out, let us know and tell Bailey to get ready for some more Pony fans on Oct 1 and 8.

Yeah, Bailey's First and Ten is definitely the place to go watch the Mustangs! They are big fans there.
