How can we stay off the grass.. when they've obviously been smoking it to come up with such pathetic traditions?
What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.

the aggs are really full of themselves and really think that everyone is envious of them. they make me sick.

my question about the "article" is how old is this guy? he claims he is one of the more "tenured students walking around campus" which means he is on the 10 year plan!

Come on ponies, you can do it!

While I do not like the Aggies, most of the do's and don'ts actually sound like basic football watching skills that I wish we did -- yell when the opposing team is in the huddle and not just at the line of scrimmage especially on 3rd downs, don't disrupt your own offense by yelling while your team is in the huddle, stand and take off your hat for your alma mater, be in your seats by kick off, learn the words to your team's cheers and fight songs and sing/yell them at the appropriate times, respect the other team's fans and band...

Seems pretty reasonable to me.

Now about the gay milkmen and their signals, the protected swatch of astro turf, and the fact that half the band doesn't actually play but is just there for show.

A game at Kyle Field is really better than a circus because the clowns are in the stands and leading the cheers. Bring your whistles, oops, we'll save that one for when they come to Dallas.

I was impressed that he clarified that the row number before row 18 was row 17. There could have been some real confusion.

Even worse, what kind of goober expects you to follow all that BS and NOT sneak in alcohol so at least you'll have a lame excuse for doing it.

How fun is this?

Get a big win under our belts and we're making fun of the Aggies! I love it... (If you asked me a week ago what the complexion of the board would be, well, I couldn't have even hoped for this.

Beat the Aggies.

Stallion, the same goober that doesn't want you to buy a NEW 12th man towel, because the unwashed ones release dust and fuzz that irritates his eyes...

Just to make 'em mad, if you see anyone breaking any of these rules, just unleash on them, as if they're a bad aggie for not being psycho. There's a whole thread on texags.com about how people hate getting yelled at to "uncover", so I would suggest constantly berating anyone with a hat on.

A few other ideas:
-Constantly refer to it as Kyle Stadium, not Kyle Field
-Ask why they have so many boy scouts in the student section
-Ask why they don't sing the first verse of the war hymn. The "goober's" webpage says "we don't sing the first verse, don't ask me why." Aren't they supposed to have some reason for all their traditions?
-Comment on their shiny "tubas" (aggies have BASSES because tubas have TU in the name)
-Yell funny things at the dog like "What girl? Timmy's stuck in the old mineshaft?" Also ask why the dog is named "reveal". ANYTHING to [deleted] them off. Act dumbfounded when they go to great lengths to explain their traditions, except the war hymn 1st verse tradition, which apparently even baffles them.[/quote]

I bet Swanny and Rich will have some nice cracks on the Aggies on the air this Saturday- especially since they robbed Swanny's 1995 team from a win.

From the Do's and Don'ts
"First of all, go to Midnight Yell on Friday night. It is my favorite tradition at A&M and is simply amazing to see 20,000-35,000 fans show up on a Friday night (or 40,000 on Thanksgiving Evening before a texas game)....make sure you're standing outside Kyle Field by 11:30 so you can watch the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band march in (standing outside of the Koldus building on Joe Routt Street is a good spot). When you first see the torches as they turn the corner and you're drowned in the noise and the buzz as they march into Kyle Field you know that Aggie football season is really here and all is well in life. "

Imagine how exciting College Station is if every one goes to a Midnight Yell? Imagine how much more exciting it was before Maggies? 20,000 to 35,000 single guys hanging out together on a Friday night. Hell, a San Francisco Gay Pride Parade doesn't get that good a turn out.
