I only got here in 1991. Given my limited scope, I don't remember much:

1991: Lost 65-6. Very cold day in CS. They clinched the Cotton Bowl berth and SWC Championship.

1992: Lost 41-7. Game moved to Cotton Bowl. Holloween day.

1993: Lost 37-13. Very very cold day in CS. How'd we ever score 13?

1994: Tie 21-21...They tied us. RC tried a 75 yard FG on the last play of the game, in an attempt to salvage his #5 ranking. We almost returned the kick for a touchdown. Ran around the Riverwalk chanting "Tie the Hell out of S-M-U." Still surprised I was not thrown into the river.

1995: Lost 20-17. Derek Canine's first ever start as every one else was hurt. Tom Rossley's greatest game plan ever. Ran every single play of the first quarter while going into the 30 MPH wind. Defense held. We played field position and clock until the 2nd, when we turned the passing game loose. Ags didn't know what hit them. Amazing how quiet 65,000 aggies could be. Led late. Phantom Pass Interference call kept thier last drive going. Albert Connell was out of bounds!!!!! Amazing how loud 65,000 aggies could be.

Anything good pre-1991????

Gary Kubiak exiting the game thanks to SMU defense via very mangled leg...1980 watching a friend ( now a Dallas attorney ) manage to accidently ( really...he still swears ) dump a large Dr. Pepper from the railing over the ramp to the field on the heads ( and pretty much the white uniforms ) of the cheer-boys of the ags...never thought an aggie could climb the blue walls at Texas Stadium that fast, or a pre-law guy could taunt that much...hearing an ag buddy of mine from high school explain how several corps-turds and other students were mauled in waco trying to "appropriate " one of baylor's mascots...the folks pre 1977 have more memories that even do include Mustang victories on the field...

circa 69 had Mike Richardson running for many many yards against the Aggies that may still be the single season record for a Mustang. One of our other great backs may have broken it by now but it was the record at the time.

I was at the '92 and the '95 game. Remember the summer before the '93 seaosn on of your players referring to the '92 game with pride (maybe in Texas Football Mag) and pointing out that our players were frustrated b/c we couldn't dominate them.

1974 SMU-18, A&M-14 in a cold and overcast Cotton Bowl.

Large Louie Kelture made 24 tackles. Oscar Roan plucked a Dave Bostick fumble out of the air and rumbled for a TD.

1974 - A&M was a top 5 team at that point and were on the cover of SI that week (another in the long line of SI jinxes). Kelcher was awesome. Another interesting moment was the unveiling of the whistle stunt. Someone learned that when the Farmer band started into their signature block "T" formation they only knew when to turn when someone blew a whistle. Well, we had 100 whistles in the stand throughout the stadium and when they got into the middle of that formation, they started blowing intermittantly. Whole sections went off in the wrong direction, they were colliding with each other, and when the Aggie War Hymn stopped they ended up in what could best be described as either a lopsided "Y" or for those with even more evil thoughts a "longhorn". The entire Aggie corps was stunned into silence, because they didn't know why their band had just put a big "Y" on the field. After the game, the Mustang Band performed their traditional postgame concert, except with one difference, they didn't stop after a half hour, they kept going so the cultists couldn't have their traditional post game yell practice (required after a loss). It was a good day.
