This is just a question..
Wasn't that an illegal pick they ran on that play that won the ballgame for them? Before Herbstreet had mentioned it.. my friends and I were like ".. how was that legal?"
Anyway.. I'm glad the frogs won.. but just a question..

it was illegal. And how bout the hometown clock operator repeatedly buring extra seconds after plays when Utah had the ball at the end of regulation. Tirico and Hackstreit couldnt believe it. I give em one thing, they want to win pretty bad over there in FW.

the clock-keeper ought to be fired-no excuse for that to happen multiple times. But I was glad to see the Froggies win. This makes SMU's win so much sweeter with the realization that we really might have destroyed TCU's Cinderella season. Plus I'm a Texans-almost always root for Texans over traitors.

With a minute left, the sideline judge signaled the catch was made by Utah and then signaled for the clock to run as the receiver went out of bounds. That call was inexplicable. I understand making bad judgment calls, but how you screw a call like that up that is so basic and fundamental to the game at every level is beyond me. But it wouldn't have made a difference, I don't think. That Utah offense was ineffective.

yeah the timekeeper was not to fault for the official's incompetence but there were other clock errors throughout the 4th Q.

Isn't the official time kept on the field by the referees? If there was a problem with the clock, the head ref could have told the clock operator to reset the clock.
As for the "illegal pick" - its not illegal if you don't get caught.
Let's congratulate the Frogs on a good win. I am happy they won.

I think our clock operator was boozing a bit, with our punter probably, not good.
No worries though, the officials were on top of it every time... As for the clock running on the out of bounds play, still scratching my head on that one.

Even if that ref had gotten it right, you'd have won the game anyway. They'd have thrown a short pass over the middle two plays later and burned the timeout.
Still, I thought it was funny; you could tell by the ref's eyes that he knew he screwed that up royal. I guarantee you this is that guy's first year in Division I as a ref. If I were Utah, I'd have run or passed at that sideline judge the rest of the night. he wasn't going to make a call against Utah.
