Do we run Martin and just hope he has some success, or should we try some quick passes right off the bat to make A&M think we're going to throw the ball, and make them (hopefully) back up a little?

I'd start with some play action. They will be keying on Martin.

Clemson seem to have some success when their backs bounced outside after initially getting stopped in the interior line. How quick is Martin? Can he get it to the outside?

I was just thinking about this. I think we should come out passing. Playaction to Kennedy, keep it in the middle of the field. It's gonna be key to get on the board early if we are to have a chance in this one. You know how it goes, if we spread the field passing, it will make our little delays, counters, and traps work a whole lot better.

Ahh, the old use the pass to set up the run gag. Sounds good on paper, but does that ever really work?

Take what the defense gives. No sense running with 8 in the box.

No way. Run the ball, just pound away. Four reasons: 1) Best thing we do. 2) They struggled against the runa gainst Clemson. 3) Less chance for turnovers. 4) Burn time off the clock and give the D more rest.

You have to establish a strength before you can move away from it. Starting the ball passing is a mistake. Just like it was against Baylor.

If Clemson had success going wide that might be why Bennett was talking about starting one of the other tailbacks instead of Martin. Martin is a between the tackes Keylon Kincaide kind of runner and the others are more speed merchants. It might be that a reverse off an option on the first play might be a big gainer if the Aggies have a propensity to overreact to the ball.

I disagree. Martin looks quick enough that he could get outside. In fact, his runs inside the tackle got almost monotonous last week -- not because he wasn't effective (obviously), but it seemed like he ran the same play over and over and over again. I thought that if he hit a different hole once in a while, he might have been able to catch the TCU defense off-guard a little and maybe hit a couple more big plays.

And I agree -- play-action to Kennedy!

Romo's getting more snaps in practice, I assume. I assume more passing. I assume better passing than we saw against Baylor and TCU.

We ain't lining up in no Power I against A&M.

Ryan Kennedy, Jay'Mond Cleveland and "Fingers" Givens have to make plays in the passing game to keep the Aggies from just covering Bobby Chase and stacking the rest of their defense at the line of scrimmage.

Someone reassure me and tell me that come Sunday & Monday I do not have a reason to post something like, "...someone tell me how Coach B & his bunch could have our guys so shoddily prepared. A big game like this and they pi$$ down their leg...the TCU game a year ago would've been an improvement from the effort I saw Saturday."

Again, I hope I'm wrong. Someone tell me I won't be able to just copy and paste the above.

I could live with that if the 3 touchdowns are not 2 blocked punts, and a kickoff return. Personally, I think our defense may be able to slow them down for a while but depth is still a problem. Turnover free and we might keep it respectable.

I've got to agree with Stallion. At the start of the season this was the game no one thought we had a chance in. As it is the spread is 28. If we are prepared and do well we could still lose by 21. If the aggy does not have any lapses and has shored up all problem areas then we would be getting ahead of ourselves to wring our hands on Sun. AM.
