Will I get to see Phillips play tomorrow?

Seriously, as mentioned earlier, I will be risking life and bunghole to go the SMU game tomorrow and I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want to see Phillips play. Can someone please tell Bennett that I command him to start Phillips? Heh.

Phillips is being groomed for the future. He is learning a lot about the offense from the sidelines, and is still healing that shoulder. We don't want to risk our future by his reinjuring that sholder.

Let it heal, let him learn and things will be better in '07. Risk him now and we are back to not having a seasoned QB in '07.

Our biggest game this year will be the CUSA championship game, right after the UTEP game.

maybe they are saving him, but he is throwing the ball in practice, so his shoulder cant be too hurt. If he isnt getting a redshirt year, which I still dont think is possible after taking one last year, then I think he should play in selected situations. There is only so much development that can happen on the sidelines.

I hope is that whoever put out the conspiracy theory that they used a regular redshirt on him last year and are trying to get a medical redshirt this year, turns out to be true. But still... seems odd...

that's not what I said. What I said is that it is possible SMU is worried that the medical redshirt won't be availiable-since I believe you have to request it in your senior year. Therefore, last year would be a lost year of eligibility since he played 3 games. Therefore, he still would have a regular red shirt availiable this year which might be why he would only play in emergencies. But you'd think that if that were the case Bennett would ssay so.
