Aggies corral the ponies!

But seriously your team played well in the first half and had us on the ropes. Kyle field is a tough venue to play in and we got some lucky breaks early on that opened the floodgates later.

Good luck the rest of the season your squad should fare fairly well in Conf USA.

when you look at this game realistically, there was a huge differnce in talent between the two squads but you are right...that 1st half could have been really tight if SMU hadn't played with obvious butterflies. Dropped passes, blocked punt, fumble as you are about to score. It was also a tough call when we were awarded the safety instead of posession on the Aggie 1/2 yd line. End result still would have been an Aggie win...but might not have been quite the humiliating blowout this one became.

Once we got down, I think our guys quit as they knew the game was over. That showed in some pretty sorry tackling in the 2nd half.

Oh well, congrats to the Aggies for yet another blowout win against Cupcake U.

Just got back from the game and I agree with you 100%. Probably not the "on the ropes" part, but it's nice of you to say it. I had a great time and talked to several very nice aggies, but DANG it was HOT! I know it's weird to say after watching the second half melt down, but this team is definetly improved and gives me a shread of hope for out future. It was nice to be able to jump in the car and go watch the mustangs play at a big time college football venue. [/quote]

I sat in the Letterman section of A&M and everyone was telling me if we made the catches and not turned the ball over what a different game it would have been - well duh, but they were being nice.

A&M has great fans - so glad to play them over Tech.

Couldn't agree with you more. Every single Aggie fan I encountered (and there were millions of them, it seemed) was encouraging and considerate. OK, their goofy traditions are, well, goofy, but they spoke highly of Coach Bennett, Jerad Romo and the defense, and said (in the first half, at least) that we looked a hell of a lot better than they expected. They also were gracious after the game, wishing us luck, and several suggested we'll win some conference games. The outcome was unpleasant, to say the least, but their fans were a lot better than the game 1 Baylor fans, that's for sure.
Rise up, Mustang Nation!
Go SMU!
