Money Games

Can we please stop overscheduling until we can compete. Money games are fine and dandy but I would sure feel a lot better being 2-1 after beating Temple or Buffalo than 1-2 like we are now. If we have to play these money games can we somehow not be on tv or on CSTV (which is exactly like not being on tv). My 2 cents. I propose that we not play any more money games until 2021.
Money games would include any and all teams from the BCS (except Duke and usually Vandy). If we have to play a BCS school from the Big 12 Baylor is ok and Oklahoma is ok. Some of those spare teams for the Big East are ok. Washington form the Pac -10 is ok. Don't schedule Boise from the WAC. No MWC teams because they all make me nauseous (TCU is ok since we just beat the tar out of them). Yours in peace and love. Nacho.

ok.....what was wrong with out non-conference schedule this year, we played two very winnable games, and one that wasn't. Yeah, I would have liked to have beaten or competed with tamu, but we didn't. Instead we had two decent (for us) crowds at two games that we shouldn't have one, and one game that we got spanked. We very easily could be 2-1 right now and feeling a lot better about ourselves for those two wins than if we had played Texas State or Ark. State. Screw the D-IAA teams, bring on the Baylors, TCUs and yes at least one tamu a year.

nothing wrong with playing TCU and Baylor every year but I'd like to see UNT rather than A$M. I would expect SMU to be very competitive with Baylor, TCU and UNT and the rest of CUSA. Those games against A$M or any other upper echelon BCS school should be reserved for 12 game years or for bowl games. I'd add Army/Navy to the mix of regular non-conference scheduling. Teams we can compete with and might STILL appeal to fans

There's no upside to playing the Sam Houston States and Texas States of college football. A win is expected and when it actually occurs means little. A loss is unexpected and very damaging. I would rather get beat by atm or other BCS schools than beat (or even worse lose to) these spares. What recruit looks at a schedule that includes these guys and gets fired up? I would rather be the underdog who gets the chance to upset a major program than a sad program that gets upsets by Texas State. Don't get me wrong though - I would prefer to beat the top tier programs! While we are in the process of getting to that point, I don't want to drift further into oblivion by scheduling games that have no upside for our program.
