With clown suits like that, there's no doubt we will. How can a player look at that and honestly say he's proud to play for that team? Those jerseys look like something that would be worn by the backup singers in a band that can't decide between 70s funk and 80s hair metal. Those things are disgusting.

I personally think the uniforms are an improvement to what they had.
And, more importantly what I LOVE is the opportunity SJSU gave the young woman in Grapevine whose small, independent business has benefited widely. There was an article in the paper (FWST I believe) a few months ago about the deal. I just wish more schools would shun the behemoth corporations whose slick brands are a product of messy globalization.

Just so yall know the "new" jerseys were actually worn last year by SJSU, and they really aren't bad looking if you see them in person.

I am all for SJSU shunning the mass-producing behemoths, and the only real complain I have about their uniforms is the choice of black socks with home uniforms. You can use the same woman who designs high shool uniforms, but do submit to the total high-school look of solid black socks. That was awful. And yes, they wore them last year. The road uniforms actually favor Oregon's white uniforms, which I personally like, but like SJSU, their home uniforms are pretty bad. Teams like SJSU have no tradition, so it isn't like they can come out in a traditional blue/yellow look that is impressive anyway that people can identify with.

Good point, Shine - shunning the corporate heavyweights is always a good thing. Nothing like putting a dent in their bottom line.
Now if we could only get SMU to stop supporting the Nike sweatshops. (Basketball wears adidas). Reebok and adidas also use international factories to produce their shoes, etc., but the wages are far higher than Nike's and the work conditions are supposed to be far less inhumane.

Um, I'm not so sure Adidas and Reebok are much better. Many times all of their shoes are made in the same factories as Nike, which by the way we all know aren't their factories. Not even their shoes really. The swoosh and the three stripes and so on are all that belongs to them. Anyone else read No Logo? Steve Nash liked it apparently. Some good stuff about the branding of education/athletes and other public 'space.' Also, PBS has an intriguing special starting tonight (parts 2 & 3 later) called Commanding Heights about this same topic. And Kevin Blackistone even had an article worth reading today in the DMNews. And go Ponies.

Can't we all take a page from SMU's lovely student body and just wear New Balances? Next year, I vote the SMU football team where Riddell. I'm sure Doak Walker and his teammates wore them and I know some current members of the team would love to sport them as well.
