Curious dilemna...

If this beast Rita does make landfall south of the Houston area, the east wind NE quadrant means LOTS of water/surge...If Rice/UH are flooded out for an extended period ( ala Tulane ), I wonder if there would be a new set of home games for the Ponies...
Nevertheless, prayers outbound for south Texas, and the folks that will feel the wrath of this storm...

Houston does not have levees that can break. It is above sea level and flooding would be minimal, just a few hours after the storm for the water to run off.

I don't know, when I used to live in College Station I remember there being pretty substaintial flooding that last for a few days after tropical systems moved through. It wouldn't be anything on the scale of Katrina and New Orleans, but localized flooding could last for a few days.

and we don't play Rice or UH until November, so if it is still a problem then, well I think we have more of a problem to worry about other than if we can play a game there.
