DMN just confirmed this information on their website.

Rita changes plans for A&M, SMU

05:15 PM CDT on Wednesday, September 21, 2005

From Staff Reports

Texas A&M has moved its football game against Texas State to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Kyle Field to avoid the effects of Hurricane Rita this weekend, the athletic department announced Wednesday.

The game, originally scheduled Saturday at 6 p.m., will be televised by Fox Sports Net. It can also be heard locally on KFXR-AM 1190.

Also Wednesday, SMU announced it has moved its home football game against Tulane from 7 p.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday because of Rita.

Three other Conference USA football games were moved Wednesday because of the hurricane.

Rice's home game against Navy, scheduled Saturday, was moved to Oct. 22.

Houston's game against Southern Miss was moved to Nov. 12. In the process, SMU has moved its game against Houston to Nov. 19.

For Southern Miss., it is the second time it has had a game moved because of a hurricane. Its season opener with Tulane was pushed to Nov. 26 because of the effects of Hurricane Katrina.

The National Weather Service predicts that Rita will pass just west of College Station late Saturday afternoon with heavy rain and sustained winds of up to 70 mph.

In a news release, A&M president Dr. Robert Gates said the school was holding the game Thursday primarily for the students and encouraged those fans not in Bryan and College Station to remain off the roadways so not to impede those evacuating affected areas. Gates said no hotels will be available in the College Station area Thursday night.

Umm... smu96... SMU SID stands for SMU Sports Information Director... when ever you see a post from SMU SID it's coming directly from the athletic department.

It's funny though... nothing yet on SMUmustangs.com

I think the Houston move is an advantage for SMU. Two weeks to prepare for the Coogs, and they are playing a tough SMiss. team during our off Saturday.

Why is it easier to find out on PonyFans the SMU-Tulane Game kickoff time has changed than it is on the official SMU Mustangs site?

Shouldn't there be a large pop-message on the official site right now, instead of some other pop-up ad?

I mean "HELLO"?

Just got a phone call from the SMU Ticket Office, saying they moved it to 1 in the afternoon, said they were calling every season ticket holder.

That shouldn't take long. No. Really. It shouldn't. :(
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
