From today's Star-Telegram --

Junior Quarterback Richard Bartel, a Grapevine High School graduate who transferred to Tarleton State from SMU last fall, was named the Lone Star Conference South Division Offensive Player of the Week. He completed 18 of 26 passes for 308 passing yards and three touchdowns in a 34-25 win against Northwestern State on Saturday. Tarleton is currently 3-0.

I'm sorry it didn't work out for him here, and I guess it means pro baseball didn't pan out, either. But I'm happy for him, and wish him the best. Keep it up.

That makes my day. I always thought he was a good QB. In fact I think I was his biggest fan on this board, except for that guy from TCU. Probably will end up in the NFL like McCown. That would be poetic justice.

Bartel is a loser, showed up late for Hawaii plane trip, was playing an intramural game the Thursday before game day (poor decision making on and off the field), good riddance, I coud care less if he could have helped us

He was better than Tate Wallis, but both of them had attitude problems from what I've heard. With his talent, he will probably be a very good QB in DIAA.

Just a note...Northeastern State is the worst team in LSC...He has been somewhat impressive in other games though. Tarleton is very good this year.

This is not DIAA. It's a rung down from that...DIV II.
