Maybe a season ending injury to Eckert will give Phillips a shot to play!

I doubt it. I wonder if that great Willis guy from DR will play now cause God forbid we win another game.

How can a coach watch this pathetic offense for an entire game
while their best quarterback sits on the sideline.

The worst thing Bennett could do is play Willis. The season is half over and for all intents and purposes done. No need to waste his full 4 years of eligibility. Go with Phillips or anyone else but leave the freshmen alone. Teacher, leave them kids alone, to quote Pink Floyd.

Phillips knows Romo beat him out. Phillips knows Romo is faster than he is. Phillips knows Romo is a better passer. Phillips respects Romo. Last I checked, Phillips was 0/8 as a starter. You act as if Phillips has never had a chance as a starter. Reminder 44-0 TCU, 55-7 Oklahoma St. ( the 7 was Romo's 59 yd run) This year we beat TCU 21-10 with Romo starting and lose 28-23 to Baylor with Romo as back-up, playing the majority of the game. Today winning 10-0 with the offense on the sidelines, the defense drops a game clinching interception, after a bad call on the fumble/forward pass, somehow Phillips is going to be the savior here?!

I like Romo and have often defended him. I guess I didn't make myself clear. We are currently going nowhere fast. Phillips now has to be the #2 QB--I guess. Don't ask me to tell you what the coaches are thinking. My point, if I had one, is to say that Phillips should play. He should either be the backup to Romo and get some time in games or he should start so that next year he has some game experience under his belt. We need to play any and all players (except red-shirts) who can help us next year. BTW Romo has won a grand total of one game so I don't think we can toss around won-loss records as a defining point.

Be a team player & offer move to WR.
He would be a good 'Michael Irvin' type of WR.

It was't the win loss record I was pointing out, it was the margin of defeat. 5 points to Baylor and 3 to Marshall in OT. Phillips has has 8 chances to win, Romo has had 4. Romo sat out the whole 4th quarter in our loss to Baylor- coaches decision, and was on the sidelines with the offense in the loss today in the 4th quarter. We have more to fix than our QB issues. Going back to the QB's though, I always thought that the Romo-Phillips combo would be great. They are both lefties, are more compatible and the team wouldn't have the major change in style as QB's are interchanged.

You sound like you get some sort of pleasure out of Eckert breaking his collarbone. What a special kind of fan. I frankly don't care who plays QB (or WR or DT or FS) if we win games. But try to sidestep the urge to celebrate one of our own getting injured, huh?

Having had a broken collarbone before, I certainly don't wish it on anybody. My point was that it is very unfortunate if it takes something like that for Bennett to try another QB when neither one of his two Juco QB's are getting the job done.

I have to admit I am conflicted about this.
On one hand it is important to experience for Phillips and perhaps at least he will get more snaps in practice.
One the other hand there are games left to win and our most experienced QB is Romo. Is it his fault that the running game has disappeared? That he has little time to throw? Even with our dismal offensive output is the QB the big problem?
What happened to all the posters that complain when the coach switches QBs. Are you now calling for switching QBs?

Romo has played ok. But the point is we are 1-4 and Romo will not be around next year, time to develop for the future- ie Phillips or Willis (but do you want to burn his redshirt?)
