Not that it would've mattered. Maybe we'll actually see Phillips get some playing time.

I didn't hear anything about what the injury was. If there is any truth to that comment, i.e., that he is out for the year, I sure hope we see Phillips before Duke Hasson.

The bigger question is, even with a broken collarbone, would his play look any worse than it has already this season ?????????

Shi$, already piling on a backup who hasn't played qb, yet?
Why the diss against Hasson? I haven't seen him take a snap.
CP, if pi$$ed, vent TO the problem which is inept play calling & a team that looks out of shape each 4Q we've played.

not intended as a diss to Hasson. Just a factual statement. Hasson is the only other QB I could thik of after Romo, Eckert and Phillips (assuming Bennett would not want to burn a RS). I'm serious about wondering whether Bennett will play Phillips or whether he is hopeful of somehow preserving another year's eligibility and will throw Hasson to the wolves.

All of the sudden Bennett is burning a LOT of redshirts. Didn't he play his lone draftee from the east coast today? BTW Andrew McKinney made a couple of tackles on special teams. Maybe he needs to be playing on defense!

If Bennett doesn't play Phillips now then I have to seriously question what is going on. I can see Bennett being upset that Phillips didn't go to team workouts this summer but to keep him off the field this long goes way beyond strange into the pathological, assuming Phillips isn't injured and I haven't heard that he is.
He is looking more and more like someone who is the living embodiment of the Peter Principle--the cream rises till it sours. That is probably Bennett in a nutshell. He is a good man and by his previous record a good d-coordinator but he is not a head coach. We had to be the ones that found that out. Maybe he has been hamstrung by school restrictions but some of the things he does are absolutely inexplicable. I'm not trying to beat a dead horse, but if he is here next year then I have to question the sanity of the person responsible.

I was behind Bennett for the first 3 years, but have to admit that the excuses are getting old. Even Cavin won more games and the competition was much tougher. Wish we could bring back Tom Rossley, but I think I read that he was have heart problems last week up in Green Bay.

Last thing we need is to give the man a heart attack.

Didn't Phillips have a rotator issue last year? Haven't we seen from the Jets that that can take a bit longer to heal than expected?
