Could Lou be considered for HC?? He left the gamecocks in a little trouble but he might want to redeem himself.

Please sober up.
You cannot recruit in today's Texas high schools with a coach who resembles "Mr Magoo's" Grandfather.
Equally important, recruiting violations seem to follow Holtz wherever he goes...

1. I wouldn't want him -- he cheats everywhere.
2. He wouldn't want us -- no way the money is there.
3. There's not an opening at SMU.
4. Like the Colonel said: please sober up.

I'm afraid Lou Holtz is also in the "near nursing home" crowd as far coaching goes.
He must be almost 70 years old.
Lou Holtz is just too old to begin a rebuilding plan anywhere.
Lou had a great career but Lou is "done".

No Lou Holtz.
No Grant Teaff.
And when he gets sent out to pasture, I don't want Joe Paterno, either.
I want the team to win under Phil Bennett!

Paterno is Unbeaten at 5-0

I know Paterno is 5-0. I also know that his act as gotten old in recent years. Nice start, and I don't think it will last, but even if it does, I don't want him. All of those guys have won games, but they're not appealing to me.
I'd take Bowden, but I'd also take George Halas, and he's just as likely as Bowden (or Paterno) to coach at SMU.

If we want to go back on probation again, then bring on Lou.
I'd rather have Bobby Collins myself.
