Eckert - Injury Red Shirt?

anyone heard or read anything about the possability of Eckert being eligible for an injury red shirt based on number of plays he's been in? would be nice to have some depth and experience (albeit limited) returning next year for the QB pos. would make for interesting competition btwn him and Phillips.

gosh, I hope not. Isnt it blatantly obvious that we cant protect a pure pocket passer? No reason to think next years offensive line will able to. We need size, mobility and toughness at qb.

I hope Eckert does get an extra year. He's a good guy who's worked extremely hard, and deserves better than to end on a broken collarbone.

good guy? I dont care if he's the Pope. At this point, we need to win some games before 2030.

Eckert played in 5 games. The cutoff is 3. When he played against Tulane, that was it, no redshirt.
