My nominee for SMU's next Athletic Director.

When we hire our next SMU AD it must be a bold "once in a lifetime" choice.
We can't afford a mistake.
This new AD needs to be an extremely talented individual that can "make things happen".
This AD needs to be a great speaker, "a mover and a shaker", a born leader, and person that won't take "no" for an answer, a person that can get things done and has the track record to prove they get things done in their past.
If we pick someone "out of the box" the new AD could stay for say 5 years just to get things turned around and then return to their empire outside of SMU.
But at least we would get someone dynamic that gets the ball rolling, that can handle the opposition and obstacles that are holding SMU back from reaching it's real potential in athletics and national recognition.
With the above said, I here-by nominate Mr. Roy Bailey to be our next AD at SMU.
Roy Bailey an SMU Alum is extremely successful at raising money/capital which is a big part of an athletic directors job. Roy Bailey is an out-going warm personality that could help "sell SMU". Being the head of several leading corporations Roy Bailey would be up to the challenge to overcome the people and entities that are currently holding SMU back from success on the football field and basketball court. Some may say "Roy wouldnt do it", "Roy is too involved in his business", but if we all approached Roy and said "SMU NEEDS YOU", I bet he would do it for a few years, because he loves SMU.
Roy Bailey's Bio: @ Giuliani Partners
Mr. Bailey is a founding Partner and Managing Director of Giuliani Partners LLC. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Bailey established himself as a successful executive in the finance and insurance industry. In addition to Bailey Insurance Associates, one of the largest single principal-owned agencies in Dallas, Mr. Bailey was also the co-founder, Chairman and CEO of Premium Finance Holdings (PFH).
Mr. Bailey has also been recognized for his civic activities. He was one of the youngest Presidents ever elected to the 85-year-old Downtown Rotary Club of Dallas, Texas. Mr. Bailey has served on the board of numerous public organizations, including Baylor Hospital Foundation, Victim Relief Ministries, the Texas Safety Association, DFW Airport Chaplancy, SMU Athletic Forum, the Mustang Club and the Dallas Athletic Club.
Mr. Bailey is the former Finance Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas and was the Campaign Chairman for the successful candidacy of U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions. Mr. Bailey is a graduate of Southern Methodist University.
Look at the Giuliani web-site and the principles they adhere by, thats exactly what SMU needs!
"Giuliani Partners' professional guidance to leaders is based on six fundamental principles" (tell me SMU couldnt use a big dose of these)
