UAB SUCKS!!!!

.....man its Thursday and not one UAB fan has bothered to come to our site. Pretty strange. Just another red hot CUSA rivalry I guess-or maybe they have less fans than we do. Only 10,000 supporting a Championship contender and a high profile QB leading the way.

maybe they just feel sorry for us.

They don't know who we are yet

UAB is in the East and SMU is a bunch of no bodies to them. Once we beat them in a game some year, then they will notice who we are.

We will beat UAB. I don't know how, but I'm going to create those positive vibes right now. I am troubled that we are playing another team with green colors which seem to give us some trouble, but just think, next week we get a team wearing purple.

it doesnt hurt to hope, but there's no way in hell that you beat us. we're clicking on most, not all, of our cylinders right now. there will also be a good crowd for the homecoming game as well.

We'll have about 25 people there, can you beat that?

Maybe their head coach would be a good match for us, given his ability to recruit and coach in the presence of an apathetic fan base, and being what the third best D1 school in the state. Isn't it Mack Brown's brother?

Watson Brown is a very interesting head coach. It brings up the same question but at Rice--Coaching or Model? Rice has been a failure for over 40 years. Brown coaches the Owls but is inevitably canned. However, at UAB under relaxed recruiting restrictions Brown appears to be able to build a strong, competitive program. Coaching or Model?

Amazing what you can do when you can recruit whomever you want, and you don't have to worry about academic restrictions or keeping them eligible. Great talent makes a great coach and very rarely does a great coach pull the talent above its level. There few exceptions (Johnson-Navy, Spurrier-Duke, Ross-SDS, Schnellenberger-Miami). 16 years proves its not the coaches, its the model. You get four coaches, all of whom were successful before they got here and failed once they got here, there's got to be a reason. Thus, the age old question do we change the model, or do we keep changing coaches, hoping to find lightning in a bottle?

its not an apathetic fanbase, its no fanbase. we've had to build one from scratch in between alabama and auburn. its kinda tough to do. heck, we havent even been a university for 40 years yet. yes, mack is watson's brother.
