Goodbye, Bottom 10

So far this season I have had a bit of an empty feeling. The reason is that SMU has not been featured on the ESPN's Bottom 10 this year.

Now, I think it is pretty safe to day that with 2 wins, we will not make the Bottom 10 this year.

Small accomplishment, I realize, but I am glad to say it; GOODBYE BOTTOM 10!

GO MUSTANGS! BEAT ECU!

We were on the waiting list a week ago. For now we are safe. We need to beat Rice or we will end up on that list again (since Rice is in the Bottom 10 and shares one of the longest current losing streaks). Needless to say, we need to win this week to avoid a consideration for Bottom 10. And 2 more wins gives us plenty of breathing room.

I'm not saying this in jest but can Bennett call Schumann during the season before the Rice game and pick his brain about how to stop the triple option, our worst nightmare.

We might make the waiting list, but I don't expect any higher. Probably find out this afternoon or tomorrow morning.

interesting note...there are only 3 D1A schools with the 'Owls' moniker, and all three are in the bottom 10.
