Stop saying that if it weren't for ____, SMU would be 5-2 or 4-3 or 6-1. Stop it. There isn't a team in Division 1 that can't say the same thing. Somebody said the same thing on this board during the 0-11 season.
Just as easily as you can say it, Anybody can say that if it weren't for ____, SMU would be 0-7.
This is football. Almost every game in the college or the pros comes down to handful of plays. The teams that win are the teams that make the plays. If you haven't figured it out, this team has trouble making the plays. Why? Because this team isn't very good. This team is 2-5. "You are what you are."-Bill Parcells.
Stop it.

This team would have been 2-5, if the Tulsa game would have been canceled.

I don't count the Tulane game because SMU didn't even show up.

Remember after UAB someone said 7-4 was still possible, and someone else said so is 2-9? Well...guess which one is still possible now...

if Jimmy Joe would just throw me the ball when I was all alone in the End Zone---we'd be undefeated.

Sorry, Jimmy Joe quit to join a CPA firm and play heavy metal music at the company picnic which will be held on a Div 1AA campus to where the job transferred him.
