Why don't you copy and paste here, if it's relevant to the Ponies? The guys who do this site do a good job of preventing a forum for PonyFans to exchange information, thoughts and ideas. Seems an insult to them to try to try to get people away from this site to yours, if you're also talking SMU football.
To be fair, if you're paying to advertise on this site, I withdraw my comments. If you're part of the reason this site is up and running, then I owe you an apology.

this is one of reasons I think it is somewhat unfair to blame Copeland for the Head Coaches he has chosen. He also wanted Walt Harris who went on to turn the Pittsburg job around. Smu is getting second choices because the administration is not commmitted to winning not necessarily because Copeland can't identify quality head coach material. That's why its important to fully commit to the program BEFORE choosing a head coach.

If I was attempting to generate revenue for my little blog (I hardly call it a site), I would agree with you. I am not trying to get people away from this site in any way and I think most people know that. I have a tremendous amount of respect for the people that run this site.

BC was in the Big East a BCS Conference. He could tell kids you get to play Miami, Pitt and Virginia Tech every year as well as your friends who end up at Syracuse. SMU was about to join the WAC. It was a no brainer for any coach. Program with big $$$$ to spend or a school with significant recruiting hindrances, and in a disfunctional conference. To be honest no one knows if he could have turned this program around.

Exactly!! Given the lack of committment by the administration, there is not a coach around who is ever going to have any success here.

Good points. I apologize for my earlier comment. I blame Sam Adams, and his friend Jack Daniels.

Yup. Doesn't apply to just football, basketball too. Still, Copeland could be working harder and be more outspoken on the changes that need to be made. This is one of my main points-people don't know this stuff. That being said, I think Copeland could have made better choices than the ones he did. as to this statement: That's why its important to fully commit to the program BEFORE choosing a head coach.
This is a very, very important point. This is what TCU did before hiring Fran. They commited to fixing their problems and then hired the right guy for the job.

Thank you, Snob. I knew deep down you understand our true problems.
