Anyone else watching the Miami-North Carolina game? The new uniforms the 'Canes are throwing out there are simply putrid. Bright green with gold helmets that have little red/black hurricane warning flags on them. These things look like a kid took a red Magic Marker to a Baylor or Notre Dame helmet.

It's just their "throwback" unis. Cut 'em some slack.

UF now has the orange shoulder look too. Was this like a well organized plan from Nike to introduce all these new looks within the same week? Or just coincidence?

I didn't mind the UM throwbacks, but these new Florida unis look like crap, actually WORSE than the VaTech ones, if that's possible.

we need to wear some light blue throwbacks.

Here's a question I have, and maybe I'll go ahead and write this in an e-mail to Copeland:

Why do our teams wear that dark navy blue...because those are the "official colors" correct? And we don't want to stray from this, that's why the football team changed to the dark navy jerseys and helmets? If that's the case, how come some of our other teams still wear lighter shades of blue? Here is a pic of this season's cross country uniforms:

Looks pretty royal to me, definitely not navy blue.

I think there should be an optional (apparently it already is, CC chose the royal blue) set of "athletic colors" to be used so that we aren't wearing that freaking dark navy all the time. Oh, and football should be required to wear the lighter colors.

I agree -that's the blue we should wear-I could care less what the "Traditions committee" thinks. It needs to be the same hue of the bright red Mustang.

this is true-

me and my sister went to a taping of "The Price is Right" in LA during a fall break last year. I we wore SMU shirts, mine blue with red horse and the opposite for my sister. During commerical breaks Bob Barker talks to audience members. On break, he looks at me and says hey there, you goto SMU?
Me- yes
bob- well smu's colors are red and blue right?
me- yes sir
bob- your shirt is red and black.
me- um , its just dark blue i think.
bob- well it looks black.
me- oh ok.

So I've always been told the official SMU colors were "Havard crimson and Yale blue". Is this actually true? If you go to the Yale website, which I would assume display Yale blue, it is pretty royal to me.
