Can we put up 38?

Just noticed that Rice has yet to allow less then 38 points in any single game. That equates to five touchdowns and a field goal. Is this offense capable of putting up those kinds of numbers?

Also, why does our hurry up (no-huddle) offense take as long to call a play as a regular huddled offense?

Long live Mike Romo to Jason Wolf!

It is not a hurry up offense. It is a no huddle. They are different. The no huddle is designed to be prepared to run a play before the other team is able to make defensive adjustments running people in and out from the sidelines. It appears however that we are not able to take advantage of this as well as we should be able. We should be able to catch them with too many players on the field 2 or 3 times a game if we are playing heads up.

Normally, I'd say no, but against this defense .... maybe.
Of course, some of that relies on our defense, as well. We can't let the Owls crank out those 12-play drives, and it wouldn't hurt if our defense scored. (That might be the biggest understatement I've ever contributed to this board .... IT WOULDN'T HURT if our defense scored? No kidding, Einstein....)

I dont agree. Their offense is a clock grinder-- that's how they kept Carson & UTEP from putting 50 on the board.

This will be the shortest game of the year.

We'll be on the Blvd celebrating @ 4:31PM.

F: 31-20

Yep...that 'no huddle' offense has been like that all year long. How many 'delay of game' penalties has SMU received as a result?
