Two concerns

One, It hurts me to see our AD get a comment put in print that 6 or 6 wins is tunring the corner. The point of consistently winning 5-6 games.
That is not a commitment to Win Championships. Personally Copeland is a good guy but this statement would get a lot of AD's FIRED.
Second, Why did not Phillips get into the game in the late 3rd Qtr or most of the 4th.
When else are we going to see if he is ready to play? When are we going to get MAYBE next years QB some reps? We have a team that is getting better and we can not count on leads , so, this was the chance to season some of the younger guys. A Concern of mine.

Maybe when we stop getting punts blocked and turnovers in the second half.

two fumbles and another blocked punt in the second half, will keep coaches nervous.

Nothing on Copelands comment.. and with 11 minutes left in the 4th the score wat 27-0.
Please explain WHEN do we give the younger players some time to get their hands dirty?

One of the many bewildering action of PB. We have what once announced as our future 1st string Q-Back, and he get absolutely NO playing time in the season before he is slated to assume that duty. Even if he doesn't start next season, shouldnt PB be trying to develop his players? What better way to get a feel for Phillips abilities than on the field in an actual game?
I agree wholeheartedly wth BUS on this. Why doesnt PN play him or at least explain why he isn't?

My guess is that he is under the gun to show improvement over last year and doesn't want to take a chance of losing the game, even when it is obvious that we have it won.

Jeez, considering we've won six in a season ONCE IN SIXTEEN YEARS SINCE THE DEATH PENALTY, I'd have to say he's right--that is the least of the AD's transgressions....

Gotta agree with Copeland. If we were to win both of the next two games, then this season would rank as tied for the 2nd best season since the DP. If we were to win one of two games, then this season would rank tied as the 5th best since the DP. If we lose both, then this season ties as the 7th best season since the DP. That is out of 17 seasons. My math may be a little off and the statisticians out there may provide more accurate figures, but the fact is we have had 8 seasons with 2 or less wins out of 17 seasons. We have had 6 seasons with one or less wins out of 17 years. The next time we have a 6 win season, that ties us with the best SMU season since the DP and a 7 win season is something unseen at the Hilltop since the mid 80s. A full generation ago! We have had a full generation of poor performance and a 5 or 6 win season is defiantly a major improvement over other records this past generation.

I was wondering if Phillips would get in, but then I realized all he would do is hadn the ball off so it didn't matter.

I have no arguement with 6 or 7 wins is better that what we have had post DP.
But my GOAL or Commitment is not to win 5 or 6 games.
Point;
You tell your kids to make A's and you accept B's.
You tell your kids to make B's and you accept C's.
We are telling our team, alumni, coaches, recruits and the world that 5 or 6 is the goal. So accept 4 or 5 . Not good enough for me.
AIM HIGH not aim low. The latter is a dodgeball stategy.

It's all relative. Five or six wins IS high for this bunch.
