The Sunday DMNS has an obituary article on J. Lindsay Embrey, Jr. a top SMU alum and philanthropsit who died Friday at age 80 According to the aritcle, he played basketball for the ponies in the early 1940's and after school made a fortune in real estate development. In addition to a $7.5 million gift for the construction of the SMU Embrey Engineering Building , he also was one of the donors for Ford Stadium. With his basketball background (he was also a Dallas Chaparrals and Dallas Mavericks investor), I wish some of that money could have found its way into a Moody renovation.

What timing, I just saw him get a distinguished alumnus award a week and a half ago. He gave a new building to the ME's and the CE's, that's good enough in my book.
