Jackson Taylor and Duke Hasson

Postby kicker_mom » Tue Nov 22, 2005 1:11 pm

As #31's biggest fan, I want to also congratulate and thank Jackson Taylor and Duke Hasson. We all know that a place kicker is only as good as the short snapper and holder, and these two guys have done a great job!! I do believe that Christopher's 13 field goal streak coincides with Jackson taking over the short snap duties. And Duke has salvaged many a marginal snap and turned it into a good hold during the last two years. Not to take anything away from McMurtray's kicks...he kicked a lot of long ones in high school and nearly broke the Garland ISD record with a 55 yarder his junior year - BUT - Jackson and Duke deserve some much overdue accolades. THANK YOU, Jackson & Duke. I'll be cheering you on at your 2006 Bowl Game. :D

Thanks, KickerMom.

Sometimes we forget that it is a team effort and there are definately 3 team players involved in PAT and Field Goals. So thanks to the entire kicking team for the last minute win over Cougar High.
Just send 'da money.

Good point, KMom -- without the snap and the hold, no kicker can be successful. Those two have the kind of job where they only get noticed when something goes wrong. Your praise for them is right on!

Congratulations to the most consistent part of the program the last 2 seasons. Mcmurtray is a huge weapon and will hopefully have a chance to play on Sundays next year. Hopefully, Ryan Wolcott will get his chance next season to fill Chris' shoes.

Once he graduates, we're all going to realize how good McMurtray is. He's had a terrific year, and deserves to be first-team all-CUSA.
