Damn -- no radio in the office.

(Let me re-phrase that: Damn -- I have to work the day before Thanksgiving, and there's no radio in the office.)

Can anyone give a synopsis?

Briefly -

He isn't satisfied at 4-6 but was glad that we were in almost every game.

Thinks the team is finally buying into the idea that we can play with anyone.

Romo isn't spectacular however has a huge heart and desire to win, so he makes good decisions and leads well.

Random discussion about Rich Phillips homer call of the week for the UAB game.

Sadly that was about the extent of the conversation. Team is believing now and a couple of early wins would have been helpful to secure bowl eligible.

Made improvement. Not satisfied. Opportunities have been there. Marshall, Tulsa, ECU. We win any of those games and we are playing for the championship this week.

The kids are beginning to realize that we can win these games.

K state is wonderful place. My focus is on UTEP. I am committed to turning this program around. What happens after the season happens. Snyder is a great man.

QB position: Romo’s leadership is what you look for. Mentioned Eric Johnson and Justin Willis again and not Phillips.

Highpoint of season was UAB game.

Senior day. Emotional day. Kids that had to play before their time.

yep, another glaring omission of Phillips. I actually hope Romo sprains an ankle (nothing serious) early in the game on Saturday so we can see this play out. I'd be fascinated to see if Phillips plays and how he would play. I like Romo, but watching him a lead a 4-6 team playing for pride doesnt do much for me.

I don't wish an injury -- even a minor one -- on anyone playing in his last game.

Absolutely, and thanks for your commitment to SMU. Great job, Romo!

I don't want to be crass about an injury and I really don't mean it that way, but this very well might be Phillip's last game here too. What about that? It will be maddening if we never see Phillips on the field again, and with no explanation. He showed too much talent and potential to just evaporate. Not to mention it doesnt seem fair to the kid. Romo has had his chance this season and has done ok, but no better than just ok.

I think I understand what you're trying to say, Hoop Fan, but in what capacity did he exhibit "too much talent"? And anyone who has been around SMU football knows about "potential"...

In so far as he was actually running over and punishing TCU linebackers and safties in what I thought was simply a hell of a performance on Thanksgiving weekend of 2003. I think his throwing was every bit as good as Romos too.
