Trick plays?

Postby PonyPride » Fri Nov 25, 2005 3:40 pm

Anyone watching the aggie/cow game saw A&M running back Javorskie Lane chuck the ugliest halfback option pass ever .... for a touchdown. Seems to me that UTEP likely will be keying on DeMyron Martin, and a similar play might catch the Miners asleep at the wheel. Anyone know if Martin can throw the ball?

It may not be a trick play but what about the play that we threw to Martin in the TCU game for a touchdown. Have we run that since? Reverses are possible but I am thinking that we will work in a QB throwback somewhere in there today. Also, think quick kick and swinging gate PAT attempt.

I wish they'd eliminate the swinging gate. I know it presents an easy opportunity for two points, if the other team doesn't honor it by lining up over there. But especially on a wet day, let's not fool with that, huh?

As for a trick play .... Romo played some WR last year, so how about a throwback pass to him? Martin on a sweep, pitches to a WR on a reverse and as the defense comes up to flatten him, a flip downfield to Romo for the score! (Hey, Columbus Givens was a QB in high school -- a QB who ran a lot, but he can throw.)

And as for you, I was not DOUBTING Martin -- I'm a big fan of his, as you know. But so far, we've seen him run and catch the ball, I've never seen him throw it .... hence the question about whether he can.
Try to pay attention, will you please?
