Not to brag or anything but just in case you forgot I did predict 5-6 this season. For all the losers who predicted 3-8 good luck explaining that. Next time listen to Nacho. The voice of reason in uncertain times.

A winning season in 2006 does seem possible, but beating UTEP on the road will be very difficult unless we can count of them having 7 turn overs again next year. SMU can get a bowl bid but I don't look for us to win the West yet. Even with a good record, the bowl people want a team that will bring a crowd with them, and that is NOT us.

I don't know. Our numbers are what they are, but when optimism reigns, the numbers are OK (see the beginning of the season). I know several would employ NASA as travel agents to see the Ponies in a bowl game.

My prediction was 6-5. I am a sunshiner and pleased the team ended their season on a up note.

The most important development is the emerging self-confidence of the players, who inherited doom and gloom scenarios from many. Let's not forget these players, especially the seniors (soon to be alums). They are real Mustangs, who wear our Red and Blue! They deserve the our support, despite the many disagreements we have over the administration, board of trustees and coaching staff. They are our team and we thank them

Lastly, my only pet peeve is the student body's lack of enthusiasm for SMU football and their fellow classmates.

Phil, his coaches and administration should make a commitment to get the student body into the stadium early, in large numbers, stay late and wear red. Nothing can motivate a team more than the enthusiactic support of the student. In 2006, let's help them by creating an atmosphere of energy and high expectations. The student body can be encouraged and support to do the right thing. Leadership is needed by everyone, including those of us on this Board.

Again, congrats Mustangs and Phil. Well done!

My hope is that one day soon, students will cut short their Thanksgiving vacations so they "can get back in time for the game."
