I'm still in shock.

Postby BarbaraAnn » Sun Nov 27, 2005 10:30 am

The first time we took the lead, I thought, "wow". Then halfway through the blowout, I thought, "Holy crap, we might win this."

And then we hit 40 points, and I just lost it. Aside from the first game I ever saw (opening day in 2000), this is one of the best, most self-satisfying wins.

It's a good way to end my run as a mustang bandsmen, and makes me dang proud of being a Mustang.

GO PONIES!

UTEP had 7 turn overs

Postby Sam I Am » Sun Nov 27, 2005 10:36 am

UTEP got smashed because they had 7 turn overs. SMU had something to do with that, but the Miners have been mistake prone lately. UTEP are the ones that ought to be in shock after this game.

Barbara Ann,

Many thanks to you and your fellow band members. Your undying support is recognized as the best on the hilltop. Best of luck to you and let's hope, as an alum, you will now get to enjoy your Mustangs as routine winners, who are back on the national stage.

Again, thanks to you and the entire band!

SamIAm,

I guess you will never be happy, if you were not happy with our performance yesterday. It was the best SMU as a team has played by far under Bennett.

How aboput giving the boys the credit for causing the turnovers. We go to Palmer and that was the difference.

Take away Marshall and we would have a winning season.

Take away THE REFS at Marshall, and we're talking about our winning season. And I agree that if we got do-overs with East Carolina, Marshall, and maybe Tulane and Baylor .... we're talking about AT LEAST seven wins, maybe as many as nine!

I said to a couple friends that the Marshall game will come back and bite us in the [deleted]. Well, it did. Still no way to say for sure 6-5 gets us in a bowl, but I bet with a three game winning streak and the Ft. Worth Bowl only 30-minutes away..........what could have been.

I left to pick up my grandmother when it was 7-6. I am watching the game now and WOW. I wish I had been there.
