Winning a soccer play off game and the UTEP footall game made for a good SMU weekend.

I can't believe SMU soccer is now one of the top 8 soccer teams in the nation! This is amazing! but following along with some on the topics for football...why do none of the the media outlets in Dallas care about this? Yeah SMU football is a BIG deal(and well worth it!) But 8th in the nation! That is not something you can't ignore!!!

When's the last time a Texas soccer team has had a chance to win the Soccer National Championship...I know the DMN has put a story in but besides that..

3-4 years ago we were in the final four......we lost, but our current position isn't unprecedented for this program...I do remember their being more hype surrounding the team that time though, and it seemed the community came out in bigger numbers....but memories alwasy look better from down the road.

The DMN has covered playoff runs before. Not sure why they're not this year.

If suspect if we beat UNC to advance to the Final Four, the media will begin to notice. Lamb chops anyone?

As I recall in that final four season we were highly regarded the whole year while this season was a rebuilding one with four freshman starters and some early losses.

Perhaps they will start to notice with one more win.

In the meantime I can not believe the press that Baylor gets. Their mens BB team got a big spread in USA Today on Monday. Someone may want ot look at their PR people.

Another reason for lessened coverage this year is that all games but the first one have been on the road--faaaar away on the road. The Final Four run a few years ago, when SMU was also #1 in the country part of the season, took place almost entirely at home. I think soccer also got better coverage when SMU was hosting the final four.
