What a great way to finish off the season. I'm very pleased for Coach Bennett and hope this signals the beginning of a period where SMU competes for the CUSA title every year.

Congratulations, SMU!

Thanks, T-81.
You seem like a rather decent sort .... for a Red Raider.

Techsan and rrsweetheart, I need your help. I've begun lobbying Mrs. RGV Pony to head out to Lubbock for the first away game next year. Let's just say it's a somewhat more difficult sell than A&M and the legends of Kyle Field (which proved anticlimactic) were this year.

Suggestions? I need something better than Gardzky's, Slide Road, Brownfield & Tahoka Highways and funny tasting water that gives a person that "west Texas smile" to throw at her.

Tell her you'll treat her to dinner at Stella's. They've got a lobster ravioli that's to die for! Isn't that right, RedRaiderSweetheart? ;)

A calzone from One Guy from Italy should do the trick as well. When my husband and I go for games, I have requests from co-workers to bring one back for them.

Also, if she's interested in the bizarre, if you take the "northern" route using 380, you'll get to drive through Olney, Texas where they'll be hosting their famous annual One Arm Dove Hunt over Labor Day Weekend. Stop at the Dairy Queen and check out all the guys who love to shoot animals so much that missing limbs couldn't stop them.

WOW!! Don't you have to aim up when hunting dove? You flush them out and they fly and you try to drop them? That has to be quite a feat with only one arm and their aim can't be that good....I definitely wouldn't want to be the guy who has to walk ahead and scare everything out of the brush.

No joke...dinner at Stella's makes it worth the drive alone...haha...

I appreciate the input. Fortunately, Lubbock is beyond my self-imposed radius that extends from McAllen to San Antonio. If it's beyond San Antonio, the only means by which I go involves wings.

Tell her there is an airport about 5 minutes from Campus and that she could be "home by Eleven". There is nothing out there unless you're a college student.
