I know this is a couple of days old, but I didn't see it posted. If it's a repeat, I apologize.
From the Who's hot/Who's not column
Who’s Hot …
SMU
SMU had won six games in three years under had coach Phil Bennett and was just about everyone’s choice to finish at the bottom of Conference USA’s West division. Thanks to an improved defense and more from the passing game, after settling on Jerad Romo at quarterback, SMU finished its season with five wins, a 4-4 conference record, and a three-game winning streak beating Rice, Houston, and ruining UTEP’s title hopes. The Mustangs also beat UAB at UAB, which turned out to cost the Blazers bowl eligibility, and handed TCU its only loss of the year.

We're so hot right now, just as the season ends. Hope the momentum stays fresh over the next several months.

Since the death penalty our wins seem to come near the end of the season. I would be nice if we could start winning throughout the season. I'm happy about the last three games. I just wish we could have had those kind of results against ECU, Tulsa, Tulane and Marshall.

Given that we have a fully rebuilt, 5 year mature team next year then the start should be faster and the schedule less brutal.
BTW: I am not saying that we do not have key spots to fill but this is the first time we have a team recruited and redshirted over five seasons.
Go Ponies!! Beat whoever it is we are playing!! @PonyGrad

Must agree..
I remember someone saying the first year Bennett got here...2005 or 2006 would be the year we will have to wait till.
I really and truely think 06 is the year we're going to win Conference. Lets hope so. We have all the players to do it.

I was not present during the Tulane game, I was at my father's funeral. But, what happened? Were they just sky high and we flat? poor calls? the wrong players on the field? What do you think happened?

Actually, the team didn't even show up. They looked like SMU teams of old. Seriously, it was bad.
