Favorite Win of 2005?With 5 wins under the belt, which one was your favorite?
1) 21-10 over #22 TCU 2) 28-27 over UAB 3) 27-7 over Rice 4) 29-24 over Houston 5) 40-27 over UTEP Mine would be the TCU victory. No matter how many games we win..being able to say we beat the Horny Toads makes the season perfect for me. ![]()
UTEP was most important winTCU got trapped, but UTEP was playing for the Western Division title. Winning the last game, and making it three in a row makes for a good off season and recruiting.

UAB, we destroyed their hopes for the championship, and that last play was just amazing. What a hail mary.
Its gotta be TCU. Beating our rival and getting the Skillet back - it doesn't get much better than that.
Not to mention preventing them from being undefeated this year!
definitely cTu
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.
TCU, hands down, was the most satisfying for me. I hate the frogs.
And I'm splitting hairs here, but I do wince when I keep hearing the last play of the UAB game referred to as a "hail mary." It was not a hail mary. That ball was thrown on a rope, to a specific person. Just wanted to make sure everybody realizes that distinction.
When I was in elementary grade school, I remember asking my Dad where Open HS was when I saw them on our Judson HS schedule. ![]() TCU game gets a slight edge over UTEP with me.
Definitely TCU. Subsequent losses took the bloom of that rose and the UTEP game helped make for a nice season and a great launch pad for recruiting but as a game, TCU was it.
They are also our highest ranked victim. ![]() Go Ponies!!
Beat whoever it is we are playing!! @PonyGrad
The TCU game made us all feel good and the win over a ranked team will play out in recruiting.
BUT... The UTEP game proves ( to me ) that this team can perform under pressure. WE kicked the crap out of UTEP on a day when they should have been ready to eat our lunch. This third win in a row had everyone in the stands beaming. It has been a long time since the stands were that electric. More people stayed and more people were loud. UTEP game for me. Mustang Militia: Fight the good fight"
All wins are good to me, but I was impressed that the defense finally figured out how to stop Rice and did so in a dominating fashion. That is what recruiting speed can do for you. Without speed, the pitchmen make the corner or the QB cuts up while you rush outside to stop the pitchman. To complete dominate the option both upfront and on the wings was very enjoyable for me as an old defensive guy.
