Perspective

Postby RGV Pony » Mon Dec 05, 2005 11:15 pm

After witnessing the debacle of LSU's game against UGA firsthand, I must say I experienced an unusual perspective.

While my wife and stepdaughter were frustrated at their current and future alma-mater's performance, and I shared with their disgust, it was quite pleasing to be able to reflect in my mind that our mighty Mustangs, at least until September, have a) won the most recent game that they've played, b) beaten rather soundly our biggest rival, and c) have more to look forward to than has been in some time.

It was nice to hear someone else talk about whether the present coach is effective.

While grabbing a bite to eat in the Atlanta airport, out of the corner of my eye I noticed someone else wearing a purple jacket. I assumed it was another Tiger fan...until I heard them talking about heading back to Manhattan. I then had a conversation on the merits, rather than detriments, of Phil Bennett.

For at least until September, it's not so bad being a Mustang fan.

Oh, and I was able to draw on my experience from the aTm game and a humorous post on PF.com. I phoned my stepdaughter in Baton Rouge this afternoon to hear if she'd heard the latest....

that in fact Matt Flynn had been sacked again, and Georgia had just scored again.
