UT Players

Just saw a story from a local TV station on my home page that said "several" UT football players were being investigated for "robbery by assault" and that "three" of the players being investigated may be starters.

Hey, Longhorn68, where you at??

Is something else you have no control over and therefore will not get excited or upset about it?

Hey Mr. Pony, go.... nevermind.

I just heard about this for the first time this morning. Apparently the incident happened back in September and the allegations definitely seem fishy. However, I can't deny the impeccible timing on the release of this information - whether true or not. We'll see what happens.

For your sake as a fan, LF68, I hope these allegations aren't true.

And we all know that these things happen at lots of schools -- it's not like UT is in a unique situation here.

However, armed robbery is scary stuff, and if it IS true ..... how did this "investigation" get smothered for three months? That's a little disconcerting.

What's strange is this incident happened in September. Also, this is just now coming to light. Does that seem fishy to anyone else? Anyway, I'm not assuming the players are innocent, but I'd like to see some more information before I pass judgement (unlike others on this board).

And btw, when I hear things like this about other programs I don't automatically assume all the players are thugs and trash. The attitude of some of the people on the board is really appalling. I assumed SMU students and grads would be educated and intelligent enough to draw conclusions from facts and tangible information, not bs assumptions and conjecture. I guess I thought too much of your school.

Longhorn,

My complaint is that this will all go away, because it's UT.
And YOU know it.

Does it sound fishy it allegedly occurred in September, and it's just now coming out?? You're darned right it does.

How'd Mack and DeLoss keep it under wraps? Hmmmmmm?

Why did Ramonce continue to play? Hmmmmmm? :)

Longhornfan68 you mentioned September 4th, but don't forget about December 10th.

This is the price of a big time program. You have to recruit some thugs or you don' t get it done at this level. We will know we are getting closer when we have more criminals.

UT has mastered the "throw a blanket on it for a couple of months" method of defending these things.

You're correct. The more serious charge happened in September (if I read the article correctly) and that's the one that has me the most distraught.

I don't know why everyone's so worried about whether the charges are legit or not. I mean, doesn't WFAA have a tape of it somewhere?

just kidding.
