My email to Dale Hansen after his 6pm sportscast on 12/20:

Must be a slow news night to go with an in depth story on TCU's football season and its upcoming bowl game, WHICH ISN'T PLAYED FOR ANOTHER ELEVEN DAYS.

And don't think I didn't notice the VERY OBVIOUS omission of TCU's devastating loss to SMU in your story.

(Don't EVER try to say again that you harbor no bias against the Ponies.)

I guess a story on SMU's basketball team setting a school record last night for shooting percentage was not as pressing a story as TCU's Dec. 31 bowl game. BHop also set career record for shooting percentage.

Channel 5 made it to Moody, and the other local stations should have, too. Local guy comes back, shoots the lights out, leads the team to a lopsided win .... but Hop doesn't play for the Cowboys, so Dale has no idea who he is.

Hansen doesn't hate SMU. Never said he did. Just doesn't see any point to covering them.

We have a genial back and forth about this. I appreciate his responding, even though I disagree with his reasoning. l

Mr. Mustang,

I don't think ignoring the slights by one of the largest media outlets in this part of the state is the right choice.

I prefer to try to get Channel 8 to wake up. It will help SMU.

The only way Ch. 8 will ever 'wake up' is when the Mustangs start winning consistently. Until then...it's kind of like teaching a pig to sing.

Mr Pony is MrMustang1965's illigitimate child. We get 662 fans at BB games and yet we still have to listen to this same crap over and over. LOOK NOBODY CARES ABOUT SMU BECAUSE SMU DOESN'T CARE TO COMPETE.
